Lic. Marta Vicente
Director

Mrs. Vicente got a degree in Clinical Psychology at the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña. In 1992, she received the Diploma of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) for elementary level training (ages 6 to 12) in Bérgamo, Italy. In 1995, Mrs. Vicente also received the Diploma from the Japan Montessori Association (JAM) for early childhood training (ages 3 to 6) in Fukuoka, Japan.

She worked in schools in the Dominican Republic, Japan and México, before starting the Center of Montessori Studies of Santo Domingo. Her goal is the spreading of Montessori education in the country.

Lic. Lilian Inés Alejo Fanith

Ms. Alejo graduated in Early Childhood Education at the University Colegio Dominicano de Estudios Profesionales. She then attended post-graduate classes in Environmental Education at the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC). Ms. Alejo received the Montessori Teacher Certificate at the Fundación Pro-Educación Montessori Inc. and INTEC co-joint programs.

She has vast experience in early childhood level classrooms, and is currently working at a Montessori pre-school in Santo Domingo.

María del Carmen Hernández Padilla

Ms. Hernández is a Psychology undergraduate student at the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC). She also received the Montessori Teacher Certificate at the Fundación Pro-Educación Montessori Inc. and INTEC co-joint programs.

Ms. Hernández has worked for the last two years as a Montessori teacher at a pre-school in Santo Domingo.

Lic. María Eugenia Ricart Rincón

Mrs. Ricart graduated in Psychology at the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC). She has also completed the Advanced Training Course in Montessori Education for Early Childhood of the Fundación Pro-Educación Montessori Inc. and INTEC co-joint programs

In addition, she has spent seven years teaching English as a second language in several elementary schools in the city. She has also worked as a therapist using techniques to improve concentration skills in children, and also treating problems related to dislexia .

Lic. Saturnino Hernández

Mr. Hernández has a bacherlor's degree in Education and a degree in Communications and Journalism awarded by the Universidad Interamericana of Santo Domingo.

Since 1990, he has worked for the Fundación Pro-Educación Montessori Inc., of which he is presently its Executive Director.

Lic. Ana Isabel de la Cruz

Ms. de la Cruz has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo and is currently an Education undregraduate student at the same institution. In 1996, she received intensive summer training in the Montessory educational system for preschool level at the Casa del Niño Montessori in Santo Domingo.

Since 1997, she has been an assistant teacher in PANAL, working with children from 6 to 11 years old. She has a vast experience in basic level schools, and is currently working as a kindergarten teacher in a preschool in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
